HDFC’s stock hit a new high on Friday, taking the company’s market capitalization to over $5 lakh crore.
On the BSE, its shares reached a new high of 2,808.75 rupees.
HDFC’s stock was trading at 2,798, up 39.35 percent from its previous close at 1.10 p.m.
It had a market capitalization of $5.03 billion.
“The Allotment Committee of the Corporation at its meeting held today approved allotment of 17,36,497 equity shares of 2 each under distinctive numbers 1800195903 to 1801932399 pursuant to the exercise of stock options by some director and employees of the corporation,” the company said in a regulatory filing on Friday.
It added that after the above allotment, the corporation’s paid-up share capital is over 360.38 crores, with 180.19 crore equity shares of 2 each.
