Rihanna, the international pop star, has tweeted about the internet blackout in Delhi during the farmers’ strike. Kangana Ranaut, a Bollywood actress, responded to Rihanna’s tweet by calling her a fool and a dummy. Kangana also said that the farmers who were protesting were terrorists.
Rihanna responded to a news storey about the protest on Twitter on Tuesday, writing, “Why aren’t we talking about this?” Farmers are protesting using the hashtag #FarmersProtest.”
Netizens have widely shared the pop star’s tweet. Many speculated that Rihanna’s tweeting about the country’s burning issue would bring it to the attention of her 100 million-strong social media family.
However, Kangana chose to react to Rihanna’s tweet by addressing her with adjectives like “fool” and “dummy.”
“No one is talking about it because they are not farmers, they are terrorists who are trying to split India so that China can take over our weak broken nation and transform it into a Chinese colony similar to the United States…,” Kangana wrote in response to her tweet. We’re not selling our country like you dummies, so sit down.”
Kangana Ranaut received a lot of backlash after her tweet criticising Rihanna went viral. She was dubbed a ‘bhakt’ by others.
The Bollywood actress had just a few days earlier tweeted that Indians who support the ongoing farmers’ protest are terrorists.
“Six brands canceled contracts with me, some of which were already signed, some of which were about to expire, and some of which said I named Farmer terrorists, so I couldn’t serve as an ambassador. On Republic Day, 26 January 2021, Kangana Ranaut tweeted, “Today I want to say every Indian who is supporting these riots is also a terrorist, including anti-national brands.”
