Is the Poco M3 the best budget phone in its class? Here are our initial thoughts on the system.
The Poco M3, which was released in India, is the successor to the budget Poco M2. The new low-cost smartphone is available for Rs 10,999. It has a brand-new design and reasonable specifications for the price. Here are our initial thoughts on the Poco M3 while we work on our analysis.
The Poco M3 is a budget smartphone with a plastic back that comes in three colors: Yellow, Blue, and Black.
The textured pattern on the back panel, according to Poco, gives it a leather-like finish. It aids in providing a stronger grip and preventing fingerprint smudges. The back panel also curves around the edges, making the 19.5:9 aspect ratio phone easier to wear.
The Poco M3 has a 6.5-inch FHD+ IPS LCD on the front. The screen is sufficiently bright for indoor use. When using the phone indoors, however, you will want to increase the brightness to the maximum setting. The basic color scheme on the monitor leans towards a warmer temperature. For a cooler sound, you can adjust this in the Display Settings.
The 8MP front camera is housed in a ‘waterdrop’ notch at the top of the show. It takes good selfies, but it does have some skin smoothing. The kit also includes a stereo speaker system that is relatively loud. The second audio outlet is the earpiece.
The Poco M3 has a triple-camera setup on the rear. The phone’s main camera is 48 megapixels, with a 2 megapixel macro lens and a 2 megapixel depth sensor. In our view, an ultrawide sensor instead of the 2MP macro would have been a better option.
The camera software is straightforward and easy to use. There are various modes below the viewfinder, such as Photo, Video, Portrait, Pro, and so on. Various settings, such as HDR, Flash, camera settings, and so on, are located at the end.
Here’s an example of a photo taken with the primary camera. More camera samples taken with the main and macro lenses will be included in our Poco M3 analysis.
The Poco M3 is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC and 6GB of RAM as standard. The computer is available with internal storage options of 64GB UFS 2.1 and 128GB UFS 2.2.
The device’s output has been very satisfactory in our limited time with it. When switching between applications, we encountered no major issues. The gaming and multitasking success of the Poco M3 will be covered in depth in our complete analysis.
The Poco M3 comes pre-installed with MIUI 12, which is built on Android 10. The custom skin has a lot of features and can be customised in a variety of ways. The overall feel of MIUI 12 for Poco was pleasing to us. Is the programme, on the other hand, well-suited to the hardware? In our Poco M3 analysis, we’ll let you know.
On the top edge of the unit are the 3.5mm headphone jack and the IR Blaster.
At the bottom edge, next to the speaker grille, is a USB Type-C slot. On the right edge of the screen, the power button also serves as a fingerprint scanner.
These were our initial thoughts on the Poco M3. Flipkart will begin selling the device on February 9 at 12 p.m. Our Poco M3 analysis will be published shortly on the website. Keep an eye out for updates.
