HIGHLIGHTS
Mukul Sharma, a well-known leaker, has hinted at the Redmi Smart TV’s launch.

According to him, the TVs may be available in India as early as March 2021.

Redmi is scheduled to release a 55-inch and 65-inch television.

Mukul Sharma, a well-known tipster, has revealed that Redmi will launch its smart TVs in India. “Thought big TVs were expensive?” he asks in a tweet. As early as March, Redmi could finally introduce low-cost smart TVs in India. Is it the Redmi Smart TV X series TV, which was released last year in China? It came in two sizes: a 55-inch and a 65-inch model. Since Redmi hasn’t released any official details about the TV, we advise you to take this rumour with a grain of salt.

Two key pieces of information are highlighted by the leaker. The first was that we could see TVs at a reasonable price, and the second was that we could see a 55-inch and a 65-inch TV. The prices of the TVs would be interesting to see, as we already have a range of brands offering 65-inch TVs at reasonable prices.

According to rumours on the internet, Redmi can release the Redmi Smart TV X55 and Redmi Smart TV X65 in India. In China, the same was introduced in 2020. Could we see the same models that launched in China launch in India, unlike Xiaomi, which has taken a localization approach to its TVs?

Specifications for the Redmi Smart TV X55 and X65
The specifications of the 55-inch and 65-inch Redmi Smart TVs are identical, with the screen size being the only difference. It has a metal frame and a screen-to-body ratio of 97 percent. The TVs also have far-field microphones, which enable you to monitor the TV without using the remote. This feature has been seen on TVs such as the TCL C715 (review) and the LG GX (review), to name a few.

Four 12.5W speakers, four low-frequency speakers, and two tweeters are included in the Redmi Smart TVs. Dolby Audio and DTS: HD are supported by the television. It’s a 4K TV with HDR support. The TVs have a 60Hz refresh rate. For your networking needs, the TV has Bluetooth 5, dual-band Wi-Fi, and three HDMI ports and two USB ports.

The Redmi Smart TV is equipped with a quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage.

Expected Price and Release Date for the Redmi TV
The Redmi Smart TV 55-inch and 65-inch, according to the leak, will be available as early as March. Although there is no pricing information available, it is expected to be competitive. To put things in perspective, a 55-inch TV will cost anywhere between Rs 40,000 and Rs 55,000, depending on the brand and features available. Similarly, depending on the brand and features, a 65-inch TV will cost anywhere between Rs 55,000 and Rs 70,000. It’ll be interesting to see how Redmi prices their TV, particularly since the Mi QLED TV 4K (review) is currently available for Rs 55,000.
