New information about Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s divorce has surfaced, including information about the couple’s rumoured $60 million home. Kimye paid millions for the luxury home in 2014 — before pouring millions more into a huge renovation!
According to a new report from TMZ on March 3, Kim Kardashian is staying put in the multi-million dollar mansion she once shared with Kanye West. During Kanye’s divorce proceedings, Kim, 40, has already been staying at the couple’s Hidden Hills mansion with their four children: daughters North, 7, and Chicago, 3, and sons Saint, 5, and Psalm, 1. As a result, sources told the outlet that Kim is likely to keep the house because it has served as a constant for the children since their parents’ divorce. Kim is also said to like the house and will most likely want to stay.
Kimye bought the beautiful home in 2014, which is close to where her popular family lives in a gated neighborhood. Kris Jenner announced to People in early 2020 that Kimye HQ is worth a whopping $60 million — the apparent price point after they poured millions into a major renovation spearheaded by Ye’ himself. The rapper collaborated on the home’s architecture, which features mainly white walls and neutral tones. In a video for Vogue’s “73 Questions,” the SKIMS creator gave a tour of the couple’s home in April 2019. The value of Kim and Kanye’s Hidden Hills home cannot be reliably tested or confirmed by Diginews.
What about you? — If the divorce is finalized, it’s uncertain where the rapper would place his roots. However, the Grammy winner, 43, has been residing in Wyoming, where he owns a ranch and acres of land. Ye has been flying back and forth from Wyoming to Los Angeles, where he was photographed without his wedding ring on February 23 while visiting his Yeezy Academy. The father of four has yet to comment on his wife’s divorce petition.
The latest development in Kimye’s breakup comes nearly two weeks after Kim filed for divorce after six years of marriage on February 19. The divorce was filed just a few months before the couple’s seventh wedding anniversary, which is scheduled for May 24. They married in Italy in 2014, two years after they first started dating.
Kim demanded joint legal and physical custody of their four children in legal documents obtained by Diginews. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star did not appear to list a date of separation in the court papers, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce. So far, the breakup seems to be amicable.
“Kim thought she had done everything to make the marriage work, and Kanye was refusing to get the support she needed, which was the final straw,” a source exclusively told Diginews, referring to Kanye’s bipolar disorder struggles. “She and Kris also tried to persuade him to go to therapy and offered help as best they could, but he refused,” the source said, adding that this was the “final straw” for Kim in her efforts to save her marriage.
Many were not shocked by the filing, considering that Kim and Kanye’s marriage had been on the rocks for months. Kim’s 40th birthday was in October, and it seemed that they had taken some time apart. Kim remained in LA with the kids while Ye’ retreated to his Wyoming ranch and backed away from social media.
As reports about Kim and Kanye’s tumultuous marriage persisted through the end of 2020, Kim started going out without her wedding ring, as well as withdrawing the huge diamond from her social media messages. As Kim and Kanye spent the holidays apart, the divorce rumours became even louder. Though Ye’ lived in Wyoming, she spent Christmas Eve at her sister Kourtney Kardashian’s house in Calabasas, California.
