A source reveals Nikki and Brie Bella’s WWE plans, which the sisters comment on in an EXCLUSIVE interview. As the sisters continue to ‘practise,’ here’s a possible timetable for their return.
Since the WWE tag team retired in March of 2019, Nikki and Brie Bella “have spoken about returning to the ring together,” a source close to the twin sisters EXCLUSIVELY tells Diginews. Our source claims that this isn’t just talk; “they want to do it and intend to do it.” That leaves us with the next question: when will the twins, who were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame recently, return to the ring?
Our source tells us that they want to return in the best shape of their lives. Nikki and Brie both gave birth one day apart in August 2020; Nikki’s was her first time (she welcomed a son named Matteo with fiancé Artem Chigvintsev), while Brie’s was her second (she welcomed a son named Buddy with husband Daniel Bryan). Despite their busy schedules as mothers, the sisters “have continued to practise,” according to our source.
According to our source, the fact that Nikki and Brie are parents of young children isn’t the only reason they haven’t returned to WWE. “Their key stipulation is that they want to return when the fans are reintroduced. WrestleMania will have fans for the first time in a year, and the WWE isn’t sure when they’ll have fans again, but when they do, and it’s a huge display, you can bet the Bellas will want to be a part of it,” our source says, referring to how the COVID-19 pandemic impacted WWE events. Wrestlemania 36, for example, had no fans in the audience and was relocated to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida in March 2020.
Wrestlemania 37 will now take place in front of a live audience at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida on April 10-11. Nikki and Brie, on the other hand, are waiting to see how things turn out in the WWE. “So expect them to return to the ring together later this year or early next year for one last run,” our source concludes.
Nikki and Brie have both said on many occasions that they would love to return to the ring — including in an EXCLUSIVE interview with HollywoodLife! “Both Nikki and I are eager to [return].” We are aware that it is in our near future. We know it won’t happen anytime soon because we want the boys to be a little older,” Brie clarified while speaking with us from their Napa homes in Florida, where they were also promoting their Nicole + Brizee beauty brand, which includes the new “Tearless” haircare line for children. Brie went on to say that they won’t make a comeback “anytime soon” because they want their newborn sons to “get a little older.”
“We want them to grasp it,” says the narrator. We don’t want them to get too old,” Brie explained later, adding that she and her sister are “hoping to return within two years.” “It’s like there were no WWE tag titles as we walked away for us. We both stared at each other like, ‘What?’ when they brought the tag names. So we feel compelled to return for them,” she said.
“This time, we want to be as prepared as we were when I was the Incredible Divas champion and we were on our run,” Nikki explained. “I met with the doctor for the first time yesterday, and I was like, ‘Full body.’ Please, don’t make me laugh. Let’s get started on this.’ Nikki revealed that she and Brie have already begun working on “strengthening,” with an emphasis on the neck and shoulders. “So I began yesterday, an hour session, and I’m like, ‘I’m going to commit,’ because a year comes around so fast, and I want to be prepped to go in there and kick a lot of a–,” Nikki told HollywoodLife at the time of the interview, which took place in early March.
