During the April 13 episode of ‘Teen Mom OG,’ Catelynn Lowell shared some heartbreaking news.
It’s so upsetting! Catelynn Lowell had a miscarriage just days after she and Tyler Baltierra told their families they were expecting another baby on the April 13 episode of Teen Mom OG.
“So I woke up from my nap today and I was bleeding,” Catelynn said, sitting on her daughter’s bed and staring at the camera. “As a result, we lost this boy. This is my second miscarriage, as you might know. It’s a difficult time. Anyone who has seen it will attest to how frustrating and heartbreaking it is. And it’s a total bummer because we were so looking forward to it. When I had my first miscarriage, I was triggered because it was like having a child all over again. And the pain of being 16 years old and turning your kid over to someone else was re-enacted, bringing up a slew of emotions. It’s incredible what the mind is capable of — how it holds on to these ideas and manifests them in various ways. I believe the only difference this time is that my mental health is in great shape so it isn’t overcoming me or sending me spiraling. So I can tell that the mental health work I’ve done has been successful, but it still stinks. And you’re also irritated with your own body. It’s really difficult, and it’s a stressful experience.”
Tyler later admitted that he’s “sad about the miscarriage,” but his initial response was to be concerned about Catelynn’s mental health. She told him, “I just let myself feel what I was feeling,” assuring him that she was fine. “Maybe that little soul was not yet ready to enter the world — or maybe it will be a new soul or the same soul the next time. Catelynn continued, “I don’t really know,” until they spent some quality time with their daughters, whom they had not informed about the pregnancy or miscarriage.
It’s worth noting, though, that this pregnancy was Catelynn’s miscarriage, which she announced in late 2020. She and Tyler are both expecting their second child, having gotten pregnant again after the miscarriage. It just hasn’t aired on television yet.
In other Teen Mom OG news, Cheyenne Floyd and Zach Davis found out they’re expecting a child, Ryan Edwards met with his son Bentley’s therapist for the first time, and it went well, Mackenzie McKee’s husband Josh prepared for a permanent move to Florida, and Amber Portwood sought advice on mending her relationship with Leah, but she worries it’s too late.
