You’ll be surprised to learn that these A-List celebrities have never won an Academy Award


Many actors have come close to winning an Academy Award, from Amy Adams and Taraji P. Henson to Will Smith and Ryan Gosling. Despite this, they have never won the coveted award.

Several actors have had their names called out at the Academy Awards over the years. Making the prestigious winners list, on the other hand, is no simple task, as many talented celebrities have discovered. Take Amy Adams, for example, who has been nominated for an Academy Award six times! All the accolades, the star of American Hustle has yet to receive an award.

Glenn Close was nominated for her eighth Academy Award this year, despite the fact that she has never received one. Her performance in Hillbilly Elegy has earned her a nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Will this be the year she actually wins an Oscar? We’ll have to wait and see what happens at the 2021 Academy Awards, which will be held on Sunday, April 25!

Will Smith is a well-known actor.
In 2002, the actor earned his first Academy Award nomination for his outstanding performance in the film Ali. Five years later, for his part in The Pursuit of Happyness, he was nominated for another Academy Award for Best Actor. He was, however, unable to win the award both times.

Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams
Michelle has earned four Oscar nominations over the years, including one for Blue Valentine in 2011. Though her co-star Ryan Gosling did not receive an Oscar nomination for his work in the film, he has earned two nominations for his roles in Half Nelson and La La Land over the years.

Taraji P. Henson is an actress who is well-known for her role in the film
Taraji P. Henson has a hard time believing she hasn’t won an Oscar for her work in Hidden Figures. She did, however, earn a nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her work in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

Amy Adams
Amy Adams has been nominated for six Academy Awards, including five for Best Supporting Actress and one for Best Actress for her performance in American Hustle. She was recently nominated for a Golden Globe for her appearance in Vice, for which she got a nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

Samuel L. Jackson is a well-known actor.
For his work in Pulp Fiction, the talented actor got his first and, sadly, only Oscar nomination.

Liam Neeson
In 1993, Liam Neeson’s film Schindler’s List received seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture, but the actor who played Oskar did not receive an award. (Tom Hanks, on the other hand, was the winner for Philadelphia.) Despite Golden Globe nominations for Michael Collins and Kinsey, the film is Neeson’s only Oscar nomination.

Harrison Ford is a well-known actor.
He’s one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, having played such famous roles as Han Solo and Indiana Jones, but he hasn’t gotten much Oscar love. Ford’s only nomination came for his role in Witness as an undercover cop.

Tom Cruise
Show him the Oscar, Tom Cruise! For his roles in Born on the Fourth of July, Jerry Maguire, and Magnolia, Cruise has been nominated for three Academy Awards.

Ian McKellen is a British actor.
A royal blunder! Sir Ian was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 1991 and has received over 60 major international acting awards, including a Tony Award for his performance as Antonio Salieri in Amadeus (the same role that won F. Murray Abraham his Oscar in 1985). Despite nominations for Gods and Monsters and The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, McKellen has yet to win an Academy Award. Yeah, Sir, give this foreign treasure a gold guy as soon as possible!

Johnny Depp is an actor who is well-known for his
Depp was a regular muse for director Tim Burton, and his film Sweeney Todd earned an Oscar nomination. His performances in Finding Neverland and Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl were also recognised by the Academy.

Weaver, Sigourney
Weaver’s performance in Aliens was beaten out by Marlee Matlin’s Oscar-winning performance in Children of a Lesser God in 1987. Weaver received a double-whammy (along with Julianne Moore) two years later, with nominations for lead and supporting actress for Gorillas in the Mist and Working Girl, respectively.
